Bugs are a love of mine, and in San Jose there are many if you know where to look... The fig eater beetle (Cotinis mutabilis) comes to town Summer to early Spring looking to eat, mate, and die. Uta was the name of my beetle I had in my care in the summer of 2023, but would pass away within 2 months. In memorial of Uta the beetle, I created a character with his likeness. May he rest in peace.
We can all find so sort of peace in a Zen Garden, as I was able to find peace modeling, staging, and lighting it. This is an environment piece made in Maya and Substance Painter.
